WHAT LAUNDRY DREAMS ARE MADE OF

Now, we KNOW the laundry room is no one’s favorite room in the house, BUT since we have to spend so much time in there…there no question why our precious client wanted to update this space!  Also, with this room serving as the family’s main entrance to their otherwise completely updated home, it only made sense for us to work our magic!

After having a new Butler’s Pantry put in to match the existing exquisite kitchen, our client had her laundry room priced for the updates she was wanting.  To put it simple, the quote she was given was nothing short of ridiculous!  While home projects are not cheap, they don’t have to cost as much as your first born either.

That’s where we came in!  Let’s take a closer look at how we took this laundry room from a stale entryway to a beautiful, fun entrance to this family’s incredible home.

First things first! MORE STORAGE. We already established we’d rather be anywhere other than the laundry room but with it being gorgeous with LOTS of storage, maybe we’d be willing to stay a little longer? …heck, add wine and we might just stay forever!  With our client wanting to remove one of the lower cabinets to create a “built in” space for her sweet golden’s kennel, we knew we would want to find somewhere to replace that existing storage area.

After checking with our cabinet manufacturer, we received great news that we were able to match the door profiles!  Without needing to replace all the existing cabinetry, stacked cabinets on top of their existing uppers were just the answer!  Cabinets were ordered and the real fun began.

Demo started with our contractor removing the sink, existing backsplash and granite transformation overlay on the counters.  The lower cabinet we were replacing with the kennel and the basic boring brown tile that covered the floor came next!  Once demo was complete, we brightened the dark space by painting the walls a very fitting color, Wedding Veil by Benjamin Moore, as we are certain this color is pure love!

With all demo done and dry paint, we were ready to start putting her back together again.  Several years prior to the laundry remodel, our client added a beautiful (does this style have a specific name?) brick wall in her kitchen that she hoped to match with the laundry room floor.  Even with this style being more labor intensive to install, due to space and grouting, the choice was STILL easy peasy!  The unique brick floor look is absolutely gorgeous and the end result was so worth it!

Now that we could walk in the space again, we added a new white Quartz countertop and matching white sink.  This area was topped off with this gorgeous gold faucet for the perfect finish!  (Insert link here for faucet)

For the space between the cabinets we decided on this white picket tile, from Floor and Décor, and paired it with a clean white grout.  (Link here) This tile is gorgeous and a great, cost-effective option for those of you wanting that clean look, but looking for something other than your everyday subway tile!

Next came one of my favorite parts, painting the cabinets!  We chose the most beautiful shade of tropical blue and I am officially smitten.

St. Barts by Sherwin Williams you have my heart!  We started by removing the doors and painting the framework onsite.

The doors were then taken to the shop to get a flawless spray finish before they were adorned with gorgeous new gold hardware and reinstalled.

We continued to brighten the space with Advanced by Benjamin Moore.  This is a favorite of mine for trim work and we used it to paint all the black wainscot, doors, and trim a fresh, clean white.

Then we added new gold hooks for the hanging station to tie in with the hardware on the cabinets and gorgeous faucet.(Hook Links here)

As our work in here seemed done, we could not have completed this room without replacing the old fluorescent lighting!

This space has come so far and maybe doing the laundry might not be the absolute worst anymore!

I mean when you do it in a happy, bright, clean space like this it kind of makes you feel like a Super Mom.  LOL, well that’s at least how this room would make me feel!

We pulled out all the stops one this one and it really shows!

With love,

Lauren
